Another man dies after diving into Colorado River from cliff

A second cliff-diving death in as many days was reported along the lower Colorado River system.

Samuel Lavonne Hamilton, 23, of Laughlin, died Wednesday after diving from cliffs on the Nevada side of the river.

Witnesses reported seeing Hamilton dive off the cliffs in south Laughlin and go under the water about 7:20 p.m., according to Bullhead City, Ariz., police spokeswoman Emily Montague.

Bullhead City Fire Department dive team members recovered Hamilton . Despite prolonged efforts by emergency medical personnel to revive him, Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Monday, Dennis Vanderwalker, 40, of Chino, Calif., was killed in a dive from the cliffs at Copper Canyon at Lake Havasu.
