Another swimmer missing at Lake Mead

Search and rescue operations are underway for yet another missing swimmer at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
This is the third swimmer to vanish at the lake in the past few days. Two people went missing while swimming at Lake Mead on Sunday, and National Park Service spokeswoman Christie Vanover confirmed another swimmer went missing Tuesday.
He was last seen north of Callville Bay Marina on Lake Mead.
At 11:52 a.m., the Lake Mead dispatch center received a call reporting that the man jumped from a houseboat to swim to shore with others. He has not been seen since, Vanover said. Witnesses were not sure if he was wearing a life jacket.
On Sunday, a 53-year-old Las Vegas man jumped off a boat to swim at Willow Beach, about 15 miles south of Hoover Dam, just before noon, Vanover said. He never returned.
The second man, a 25 year old from Las Vegas, went missing at 2:21 p.m. while swimming near Boulder Islands on Lake Mead. In both cases, the men were not wearing life jackets.
Park rangers and game wardens with the Nevada Department of Wildlife are working with Metro’s Search and Rescue dive team to search for the men.
