KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A Lake Havasu City woman was arrested on second-degree murder and assault charges Monday in connection with a crash last week that killed a 9-year-old boy.
The March 17 crash also critically injured the boy's father and another man.
Medical reports showed Tina Michele Means' blood-alcohol level was 0.265 percent, more than three times above the legal limit, Lake Havasu police Sgt. Troy Stirling said.
Police said they found open bottles of whiskey, NyQuil and prescription medication in Means' Toyota pickup. The truck hit a Jeep, which rolled and burst into flames.
Means was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released.
Justin Halliday died at the scene. His father Dustin Halliday, 31, and George Hope, 47, were pulled from the burning vehicle by bystanders.
They remained in the burn unit at University Medical Center.
Two weeks earlier, Means was arrested after driving with a blood-alcohol level more than four times the legal limit, the Mohave County sheriff's office said Monday.
A motorist called authorities after being nearly run off the road March 3 by Means outside Lake Havasu City. Authorities caught Means after her vehicle rolled to a stop and she had passed out. Her blood-alcohol level was 0.323 percent.
Means also faces drunken driving and assault charges related to that incident.
