Blaze damages Henderson home, displaces residents

A fire damaged a single-story home in Henderson on Tuesday night, Henderson Fire Department officials said.

Firefighters, responding to the report of a fire about 8 p.m., found fire and smoke coming from the garage of the two-story house at 996 San Carlos Creek, located near Boulder Highway and Equestrian Drive.

The occupants of the home were alerted to the fire by loud explosions coming from garage, Fire Department officials said. No one was injured in the blaze.

Firefighters found a vehicle and other contents burning inside the garage. The blaze was extinguished within 10 minutes, officials said.

The home sustained structural and severe smoke damage estimated at $85,000.

The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
