BLM honors woman for work on behalf of Red Rock Canyon

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has honored a woman for her volunteer work on behalf of Southern Nevada’s Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

Pat Williams received a Milestone Award for exceeding 20,000 hours of volunteer time contributed to the agency.

Since she and her husband, Chuck, began volunteering at the BLM’s Red Rock Canyon NCA in 1999, they have been a driving force behind the Friends of Red Rock Canyon organization.

BLM officials praised her efforts to raise funds, increase community awareness, launch educational initiatives, protect natural and cultural resources, and organize and lead volunteer projects.
