BMX star Lavin’s condition improves after crash

BMX star T.J. Lavin, who was severely injured when he crashed during a bike jump Thursday night in Las Vegas, is out of a medically-induced coma and is communicating with medical personnel, family friends say.
An early report had Lavin suffering fractures of the arm, ribs, and face. The 33-year-old is a Durango High graduate and the host of a popular MTV show.
