Bodies of couple missing after boating accident found

KINGMAN, Ariz.-- The bodies of an Ottawa, Ill., couple missing since a Friday night boating accident were recovered from Lake Havasu at 8:20 a.m. Sunday.

Mohave County Sheriffs office spokeswoman Trish Carter said sonar equipment identified targets before divers located the bodies of Michael and Brenda Bedeker, both 45, about 200 yards from the shore north of Site Six.

The Bedekers and two other Ottawa residents were tossed into the lake when their 36-foot Eliminator made an unintended turn and rolled four to five times across the water. The other unidentified adults, a man and woman, were treated for minor to moderate injuries.
