Children injured in Friday night collision involving Metro patrol car
Two children were injured Friday night when the car they were riding in was struck by a Las Vegas police patrol car.
A 7-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and a 4-year-old girl suffered moderate injuries in the 9:22 p.m. accident at the intersection of Jones and Oakey boulevards.
Police said the children were in a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire driven by 33-year-old Leilani Hoe that was making a left turn through the intersection onto eastbound Oakey.
A patrol car with two people inside was traveling north on Jones and struck the car.
Police did not say which driver was at fault during the accident.
Hoe, who suffered minor injuries, and the children were taken to University Medical Center. The children’s names were not released.
The 25-year-old passenger in the police car suffered minor injuries. The 39-year-old driver was not injured. Police said the names of the officers will be released at a later date.
