Construction on Grand Bazaar Shops in full swing

A famous section of the Las Vegas Strip is unrecognizable today.

Construction on the Grand Bazaar outdoor mall outside Bally’s Las Vegas is proceeding just out of sight of most tourists, just behind walls on the property.

The 2-acre mall is expected to open this fall. In December, Bally’s President David Hoenemeyer said the project is part of the overall makeover of the 2,814-room hotel-casino.

Construction began at the end of last year on the property but was in full swing today.

Plans call for a 60,000 square foot mall with 150 shops.

Swarovski Crystal — the only announced tenant of the mall so far — is planning to place a 14-foot-tall crystal as a centerpiece for the mall.
