Couple accused of slaying runaway teen plead not guilty

Gabriel Yates and Anne Osburn, a Las Vegas couple accused of killing a runaway teen, entered not guilty pleas this morning in District Court. A status check hearing was scheduled for Oct. 6.

The two are accused of choking 17-year-old Nichole Yegge to death, then knocking out her teeth and slicing off her tattoos to hide her identity.

Yegge's body was placed in a hockey bag and buried in a shallow grave in the desert in July.

Yates, 31 and Osburn, 21, who are charged with first-degree kidnapping and first-degree murder, could face the death penalty if they are convicted of the crimes.
