CSN professor ranked third best in the nation by students

College of Southern Nevada business professor Kevin Raiford was ranked the third best professor in the nation, according to students on Ratemyprofessors.com, the largest online destination for college professor ratings.

The site, owned by MTV, released its annual list ranking the nation's top professors and universities in September. CSN, which offers two bachelor's degree programs, is listed among four-year institutions. The lists are based entirely on students' input, including ratings and comments.

One student posted, "Raiford is a great teacher who cares about each and every student. He has tons of real- world experience and lots of knowledge to share."

Raiford teaches management and accounting courses at CSN. He is also the adviser for the CSN entrepreneurship incubator, which has successfully started 15 local businesses during the last three years and partners with the Nevada Small Business Development Center.

Raiford is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and received his graduate business degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

His professional career includes executive positions with Johnson & Johnson, Whole Foods, Snapple Beverages and Hewlett-Packard.
