Drug task force member fires at suspect; no one hurt

A member of a local multi-agency drug task force fired his weapon at a suspect Wednesday night in North Las Vegas. Nobody was injured.

North Las Vegas police Sgt. Tim Bedwell said the incident happened near Craig Road and Lamb Boulevard about 5 p.m.

The task force was made up of officers from the Nevada Department of Public Safety and the Mesquite Police Department.

The shooting did occur in his department's jurisdiction, and the department is investigating it, he said.

Bedwell said that the task force was pursuing suspects and that a brief chase ensued. The suspects had guns, and officers fired at least one shot, Bedwell said. He said it was not clear what provoked the shooting.

The suspects were arrested.
