Fire destroys home in northwest valley

A fire fully engulfed a home in the northwest valley tonight, a spokeswoman for the city of Las Vegas said.

Spokeswoman Margaret Kurtz said firefighters responded about 6:37 p.m. to a house fire near Berkley Hall Street and Broad Peak Drive, near Buffalo and Grand Teton drives. Kurtz said the house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

She said there were cars adjacent to the property that were also burning. She didn’t know if anyone was home at the time of the fire or if there were any injuries. The cause is being investigated.
