Fire destroys mobile home, injures two

Fire destroyed a mobile home around 11 a.m. today, and two men suffered minor injuries battling the blaze near Charleston Blvd. and U.S. Highway 95.

Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked the fire at 3601 E. Wyoming Ave. in a residence within the Maycliff Mobile Home Park, said Clark County Fire Department spokesman Scott Allison.

No one was believed to be home at the time of the fire, but Allison said the mobile home was fully engulfed when fire fighters arrived. Two male neighbors suffered non-life threatening injuries as they helped put out flames with a garden hose. They were transported to Sunrise Medical Center.

Allison said the home was a "total loss."

"It's just like any of these trailer fires: once it starts, it goes up quick," he said.
