Firm hired to promote Nevada’s 150th anniversary celebration

CARSON CITY — The Glenn Group, a Nevada-based marketing firm, has been hired by the Nevada Sesquicentennial Planning Committee to promote the state’s 150th anniversary celebration.

“We are honored to have been selected to help carry out the governor’s plan to promote the activities surrounding our state’s 150th birthday,” said B.C. LeDoux, president of the Glenn Group, which has Reno and Las Vegas offices.

A yearlong celebration will begin Oct. 31 and run through Oct. 31, 2014. Nevada entered the union on Oct. 31, 1864.

The committee wants to hold 150 events across the state in celebrating the anniversary.

Funds for the events are not coming from state funds, but private donations.

The Glenn Group will work to “build awareness and excitement for the celebration,” the company said Wednesday.
