First lady’s Reno talk will be at UNR Wednesday

CARSON CITY - While her husband heads to Denver for his 6 p.m. debate Wednesday with Mitt Romney, first lady Michelle Obama will speak that morning to supporters at the University of Nevada, Reno.

The Obama campaign announced Friday that she will address supporters on the "Quad" of the campus.

Michelle Obama will discuss what is at stake for Nevadans in the election and promote voter registration and early voting, which starts Oct. 20 in the state.

Nevadans who want to vote in the election must register by Oct. 6, unless they already are registered in the state.

The event is open to the public, but space is limited. Tickets must be secured in advance from the Washoe County Democratic office, the Carson City Democratic office or other Democratic offices in Northern Nevada.
