Flash flood warning issued for western slopes of Spring Mountains

A flash flood warning was issued Friday afternoon for the western slopes of the Spring Mountains by the National Weather Service.

A flash flood warning is issued when flash flooding is in progress, imminent or highly likely.

Trout and Lovell canyons were receiving rain within the Carpenter 1 Fire burn area, which has a high chance of debris flow.

A weather service spokesman said that rainfall was heavy about 4 p.m. but had began weakening within half an hour.

The flash flood warning was to expire at 6:15 p.m.
