Four arrested in Henderson on kidnapping allegations

A drug-related kidnapping in North Las Vegas led authorities from multiple agencies on a hunt that ended in Henderson with the arrest of four suspects Tuesday.

North Las Vegas police said a 34-year-old man was assaulted by two men and taken Monday afternoon while sitting in a vehicle in front of his house in the 3400 block of Brazil Street, near Cheyenne Avenue and Civic Center Drive.

Family members told police that the two kidnappers demanded a ransom during the 3:30 p.m. abduction.

Authorities found the victim safe in a Henderson home near Wigwam Parkway and Eastern Avenue about 11 a.m. Tuesday.

As police staked out the Henderson home for a possible hostage rescue by North Las Vegas SWAT officers, four suspects came out and were arrested.

North Las Vegas police said a 29-year-old man who lived in the Henderson home, on the 100 block of Boysenberry Lane, also was victimized there.

The 34-year-old North Las Vegas man, whose name was not released, suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The Henderson victim's name also was not released.

Authorities believe that the kidnappings were narcotics-related.

"We're classifying it as a drug-related kidnapping," FBI spokesman Dave Staretz said.

The FBI, Henderson police and Las Vegas police assisted in the arrest, according to North Las Vegas police officials. Staretz said the FBI helped identify the location of the suspects.

North Las Vegas police identified the suspects arrested as 25-year-old Fernando Villalobos, 30-year-old Joel Anguiano-Barreto, 24-year-old Javier Perez and 29-year-old Alberto Mendoza.

All of the suspects face several charges, including kidnapping, extortion and robbery for both of the victims, North Las Vegas police officials said.
