Girl dies from sledding accident at Lee Canyon

A girl died from injuries suffered in a sledding accident on Mount Charleston on Tuesday.

Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Jeremie Elliott said the girl was sledding in the meadows area of Lee Canyon. Troopers were the first to arrive at the scene and the girl was flown to University Medical Center, where she died.

Elliott didn't know what caused the 1:30 p.m. accident or the extent of the girl's injuries. Her name was not released.
