Goodman to land on ‘Planet Holly’
October 9, 2009 - 9:00 pm
It was only a matter of time before Mayor Oscar Goodman and Holly Madison joined forces.
Goodman will be joining her next week when filming begins on her VH1 reality show, "Planet Holly," at Planet Hollywood Resort.
His appearance will involve him naming five things that will make Las Vegas better; she will then go out and do those five things.
The mayor talked about his participation on Thursday during his weekly media sitdown.
He also mentioned that he will be narrating another reality show about Vegas.
SMALL WORLD
This one truly defies the odds in the city of odds.
An older man and his wife, vacationing from Germany, came into the Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas recently to celebrate, according to Stefan Gastager, one of the restaurant's partners.
No sooner had they settled at their table when the gentleman looked over to another table and was astonished to see a fellow countryman. They had not seen each other since the end of World War II. The two couples got together and spent the rest of the evening reminiscing.
The ceremonial keg-tapping honors tonight are being handled by "Peepshow" co-star Madison at 7 p.m.
I'm in the on-deck circle, taking warmup swings for my turn at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Plus, I'll be signing my new book "Sinsational Celebrity Tales."

Jackson family patriarch Joe Jackson is getting a celebrity star at Brenden Theatres on Oct. 27. I'm not sure how I feel about that. No one from the Jackson family showed up for "Las Vegas Celebrates the Music of Michael Jackson" at the Palms on Aug. 29, on what would have been Michael Jackson's 51st birthday. A lot of local entertainers gave many hours to make it a first-class show. No one from the family could find the time? ...
The first hot air balloon rose into the skies over France for eight minutes in 1783 with a sheep, duck and rooster aboard. The maiden flight of Cloud Nine, the latest attraction on Las Vegas Boulevard, included a handful of party animals on an 11 a.m.champagne flight Thursday.
Anchored across from Mandalay Bay, the world's largest land-tethered, helium-filled balloon rises 500 feet.
Tickets: $22.50 during the day, $27.50 for sunset flights and $40 for day-night flights over a 48-hour period.
