Hammargren Home of Nevada History will be open this weekend

It took a real brain surgeon to turn a house into a museum that showcases Nevada history.
Former Lt. Gov. Lonnie Hammargren, who was a neurosurgeon before he retired, will host his 18th annual open house on Saturday and Sunday.
It’s all in tandem with Nevada’s 150th birthday and its sesquicentennial celebration, and follows the weekend’s Nevada Day celebration.
Doors will open at noon and close at 5 p.m. on both days.
There will be live entertainment, tours and refreshments.
Donations of $10 a person will be accepted.
All proceeds will go back into the Hammargren Home of Nevada History, 4318 Ridgecrest Drive, just off Sandhill Road between Flamingo Road and Tropicana Avenue.
