Clark County Air Quality officials have issued an air-quality alert for Thursday because of ozone levels.
Unhealthy levels of ozone were occurring in the valley during the early afternoon, officials said.
Officials advise residents to avoid strenuous outdoor activity, especially those with respiratory diseases.
Ground-level ozone forms when pollutants react in the atmosphere in the presence of heat and sunlight, officials said.
