Henderson home burns, killing pet, causing $100,000 in damage

A fire displaced a family and caused $100,000 in damage to a Henderson home on Friday.

The Henderson Fire Department responded to a call near College Drive and Heather Drive just before 2:30 p.m. to find a two-car attached garage in flames.

The fire extended into the home.

One of the family’s pets died in the fire, but no family members or firefighters were hurt.

The Red Cross assisted the family since the home was no longer livable.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
