Henderson police want help from the public in apprehending a woman who is accused of embezzling more than $500,000 from a local business and then fleeing to Mexico.
Police said an arrest warrant is on file with the district attorney's office for Ronda K. Zamora, 42. Police accuse Zamora of embezzling money from Silver State Refrigeration for two or three years.
Police said Zamora was last seen after owners of her former company began an investigation into missing funds in September 2008. Authorities received information that she fled south of the border because she feared being arrested.
Recently, detectives received information that Zamora might be in Southern Nevada or Utah.
Police said money was being electronically deposited into several bank accounts from the business in the forms of paychecks.
The owners of the business confronted Zamora, who said she would go to the bank to clear up the matter, police said. She hasn't been seen since.
Anyone with information regarding Zamora's whereabouts is asked to contact Henderson police at 267-4750. Those who wish to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
