CARSON CITY -- The state Supreme Court has dismissed another appeal from death row inmate Timothy Redmen, convicted of murdering and mutilating a Las Vegas man and tossing his body into a trash bin.
The court rejected arguments by Redmen that he had ineffective legal counsel and that trial errors warranted a reversal of his death sentence for the murder of Max Biederman in 1990 during a robbery.
According to court records, Redmen had the victim's van and other property when he was arrested in Idaho.
He also admitted that he pulled a gun on Biederman, demanded money and took the cash after the killing, court records show.
Biederman was shot at least three times, his face was mutilated using a wrought iron railing and his hands were cut off in an effort to prevent authorities from identifying the victim.
Redmen lost a previous appeal to the state high court in 2000.
