House break-in, car chase lead to arrest in North Las Vegas

Shots were fired and a man was arrested in North Las Vegas after he broke into a house, stole a car, evaded a police pursuit and invaded another house.

Police tried to pull over the car whose driver was flagged as armed and dangerous near East Carey Avenue and Pecos Road around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officer Chrissie Coon said the car had been stolen earlier after the suspect, who wasn’t immediately identified, broke into a home. Details of that breakin weren’t available.

An officer fired at least one shot during the chase, Coon said.

The suspect, who wasn’t hit, fled the car shortly afterward. He then ran into the second home, which apparently was picked at random.

Police said the four or five occupants were able to escape before officers entered and made the arrest.

The man will face several felony charges, said Coon.
