AIR NATIONAL GUARD
Nazi flag carried in parade practice
Brig. Gen. Robert Fitch of the Nevada Air National Guard has ordered an investigation after a member carried a Nazi flag during parade practice at the Reno Air National Guard base.
Fitch said the May 3 incident was a "tasteless prank" and that the person has been reprimanded.
Fitch said about 20 airmen of the 152nd Maintenance Group were practicing for a retirement ceremony when a Guard member carried a flag bearing a swastika. A spokeswoman says the member was expressing displeasure at having to participate in the drill.
