Monorail opens doors for Nevada residents
The Las Vegas Monorail will allow Nevadans to ride for free during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
People who show a valid Nevada ID at any monorail station customer service booth between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. on those days are eligible to receive two single-ride tickets per person, per station.
The free rides are among special events monorail officials are planning for the holiday weekend. On Sunday afternoon, each station will offer live entertainment, including Elvis impersonators, showgirls, a disc jockey, a fashion show, sing-alongs, musicians and other acts.
The monorail covers a 4-mile course behind the east side of the Strip, between Sahara and Tropicana avenues mostly along Paradise Road. Base one-way adult fares are normally $5 per person.

Suspect sought in stabbing death
Police were hunting Wednesday for a 25-year-old man they believe stabbed a Henderson man to death a year ago.
Warrants were filed charging Eduardo Ignacio Gonzalez with murder and burglary in connection with the June 9, 2006, stabbing death of 24-year-old Clifford Dillon in an apartment at 206 Randy Way, near Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road, Henderson police said.
Dillon was found dead in the apartment by a female roommate. Investigators said Gonzalez was an ex-boyfriend of the woman and had reportedly harassed her on several occasions. She was not home at the time of the slaying.
Detectives have suspected Gonzalez of the stabbing but only recently developed enough evidence to file an arrest warrant.
Gonzalez might still live in the Las Vegas Valley but has ties to California and Mexico. He goes by the nicknames Nacho and Sleeps, police said.

NORTHERN ARIZONA CRASH
Victim identified in fatal traffic accident
Authorities have released the name of the Cedar City, Utah, man who died in an accident discovered Sunday morning in Northern Arizona.
The Mohave County sheriff's office said Brandon Lewis Peay, 21, was killed about one mile north of Beaver Dam.
Investigators are trying to determine why Peay lost control of the Honda sedan that rolled at least once on Highway 91.
