Henderson police officer arrested in prostitution case

A Henderson police officer was arrested Sunday for soliciting or engaging in prostitution.

Michael Stevens, a 34-year-old patrol officer who has been with the department for five years, was booked into Clark County Detention Center early Sunday.

Las Vegas police Sgt. John Sheahan confirmed that the department arrested Stevens, but did not have more details.

Henderson police spokesman Keith Paul said Stevens is on paid administrative leave pending the department's internal investigation.

Information sought in death of 58-year-old LV woman

Las Vegas police are asking for the public's assistance in their investigation of the death of a woman whose body was found by her husband in her garage Tuesday morning.

Police said the body of Sandra Anderson, 58, was discovered at the home on the 1500 block of Orderzo Lane, near Bonanza Road and Las Vegas Boulevard. She was shot in the head. Police did not provide additional details.

Anyone who knew this victim is asked to contact Las Vegas police's Homicide Section at 828-3521.
