Industrial accident claims life of one at NV Energy power plant

A man was killed Tuesday during an industrial accident at the NV Energy power plant in Moapa.

Las Vegas police said they were called to the scene at 5:31 p.m. They did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the death.

A spokeswoman for NV Energy confirmed that there was an accident but would not disclose details of what happened.

The name of the man was not released.

The accident occurred at the coal-fired Reid-Gardner Station, 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
