Jacobs yet to leave TV reporting job
April 9, 2011 - 1:12 am
KSNV-TV, Channel 3 entertainment reporter Alicia Jacobs insisted on Friday her status at the station remains unchanged but acknowledged she's been in "discussions" with management for some time.
In her first statement to the media, Jacobs said "several productive meetings" have been held and "many exciting things were discussed."
Her comments were in response to a report by Review-Journal Medialogy columnist Steve Bornfeld, who wrote that Jacobs and the station were parting company.
Bornfeld based his story on "a high-placed source" at the station. Whether Jacobs is leaving on her own terms or the station's wasn't clear, he wrote.
"No decisions made," Jacobs said in an email late Friday afternoon. "My station and I are in no hurry to decide anything, so I will take a bit of time to decide what is best."
She said Bornfeld's accounts were "completely inaccurate," adding "these discussions have been in the works for quite some time."
According to station sources, Jacobs was called in for meetings after Las Vegas police charged Mötley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil with battery domestic violence and disorderly on Tuesday.
Jacobs pressed charges against Neil after he stated he never touched her during a March 24 incident at the Shimmer Cabaret. Neil and Jacobs had split a week earlier.
Jacobs' first comments about Bornfeld's report showed up on her Twitter site Thursday. She tweeted, "Thank u 4 all the very kind tweets & texts about my rumored departure from ch 3. I assure u, Ive made no decision. Keep u posted. All good."
