Justices reject appeal of former Commissioner Kincaid-Chauncey

Former Clark County Commissioner Mary Kincaid-Chauncey's request for a new trial was rejected Tuesday by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

The rejection by the three-judge panel was the second appeal Kincaid-Chauncey has lost in her battle to overturn her convictions for accepting cash bribes from former strip club operator Michael Galardi.

Kincaid-Chauncey was found guilty on nine counts of wire fraud, three counts of extortion and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in 2006.

She was recently released from federal prison in California after serving a 30-month sentence.

Kincaid-Chauncey has maintained her innocence on the charges.
