Kings drink toasts from Stanley Cup

It's good to be Kings.

The Los Angeles Kings moved their marathon celebration to Las Vegas on Friday, where they shared the storied Stanley Cup with surprised fans at a packed nightclub and two pool parties.

After staying in the Palms Fantasy Towers, they resumed their epic party Friday morning at the Palms pool and later at Wet Republic, the pool venue at MGM Grand.

A royal welcome erupted when they arrived about
1 a.m. at Tao nightclub at The Venetian. A roar went up when revelers realized they were partying with the Stanley Cup and the Kings, who won their first NHL title on Monday.

The Kings, the NHL's first eighth-seeded team to win the Stanley Club, flew to Las Vegas shortly after attending a parade to celebrate the franchise's first Stanley Cup after 45 years.

After more than a dozen players drank from the iconic silver trophy, each hoisted the cup before taking it up to a catwalk so everyone could see.

Among the players identified: Jeff Carter, who scored the cup-clinching goal, Trevor Lewis, Jarret Stoll, Brad Richardson, Drew Doughty, Mike Richards, Alec Martinez and Jordan Nolan.

Some of the Kings donned plastic crowns that were being handed out by the club. A little person dressed as a court jester sat in a throne before he was passed through the crowd.

The Kings left Tao, the Kardashians' home away from home, about 2:30 a.m.

The Stanley Cup will be on display Monday, from 4-7 p.m. at the Score! fan store at the Luxor.

If it survives what figures to be a wild continuation of the party, the celebrated trophy will be part of the NHL Awards show Wednesday at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas.
