Lake Tahoe official found in violation of meeting law

INCLINE VILLAGE -- The Nevada attorney general's office said the chairman of a Lake Tahoe governmental board violated the state open meeting law when he cut off the comments of two citizen activists during meetings.

In separate opinions released late last month, Senior Deputy Attorney General George Taylor warned that Incline Village General Improvement District board Chairman Ted Fuller will face legal action if he violates the law again.

The North Lake Tahoe Bonanza reported that Taylor found that Fuller violated the law when he cut off the comments of Frank Wright at a July 27 meeting and of Aaron Katz at an Aug. 10 meeting.

Taylor wrote that Fuller's decision to shorten the activists' public comment was improperly based on his disagreement with their criticism of district officials or policies.
