Las Vegas doctor’s medical license suspended
The state Board of Medical Examiners has suspended the medical license of Las Vegas physician Stephen Seldon. The board cited Seldon's conviction of a felony stemming from his purchase and distribution of a substance not approved by the FDA.
The suspension was issued after an emergency meeting of the Board Monday.
Seldon and his wife, an assistant in his office, were convicted last month on charges that stemmed from sales of a knockoff version of Botox to patients who visited A New You cosmetic clinic.
Prosecutors claimed that the Seldons purchased TRItox which was labeled "For research purposes only, not for human use," from the company Toxin Research International Inc., in an effort to increase their profit.
A hearing on the medical board's action is set for May 9.
