Lions Club Health First Foundation dinner

I had the pleasure of speaking at a fundraising dinner of the Lions Club Health First Foundation Friday night. I shared my take on the state of the Internet, a bit of cyber history, the impact of social media and blogging and some predictions about mobile and the continuing evolution of the Web and the way we use bandwidth.

The foundation is still in its infancy, having started providing health screenings for senior citizens in the Las Vegas Valley in July 2007. To date, more than 250 people have been screened, with many getting results to help them take steps to prevent heart attacks, strokes and other serious health issues. Five local physicians sit on the board of directors.

The foundation's goal is to promote better health through education, early detection and treatment.

Learn more about the foundation and how to obtain a  screening at (www.lionshealthfirst.org/). The site includes a video of a screening procedure, which is non-invasive and includes ultrasound scans.
