Man, 27, dies in car accident near mall

A 27-year-old Las Vegas man was killed Friday afternoon after he lost control of his car and struck three other vehicles behind the Fashion Show mall.

Las Vegas police said the unidentified man was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo east on Fashion Show Drive, near Industrial Road, when he struck the raised center median. He then corrected, striking a BMW and a Ford driving in the eastbound lanes.

The Chevrolet then rolled and struck a fourth vehicle waiting to exit the mall onto Fashion Show Drive. The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nobody else was seriously injured in the 1:46 p.m. accident.

The incident was the 22nd fatal traffic accident in the Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction this year.
