Man arrested in slaying of store clerk

An arrest was made Friday in the slaying of a 7-Eleven clerk during a Wednesday morning robbery.

Jason Miller, 24, was booked into the North Las Vegas Detention Center at 1:38 a.m. for murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, according to North Las Vegas police.

Police said Miller and a second suspect entered the 7-Eleven at 2100 E. Cheyenne Ave., near Civic Center Drive, and demanded money from the clerk, Suchinna Revtissamaharamaye.

Revtissamaharamaye was cooperative with the suspects and gave them money from the register but Miller shot the clerk multiple times, police said.

Revtissamaharamaye, a 38-year-old Las Vegas man, was taken to University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said they are continuing to search for the second suspect.

People with information about the crime are urged to call police at 633-9111 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
