Man convicted in fatal bus stop collision

The man accused of killing one woman and permanently maiming another when his vehicle plowed into a bus stop while he was under the influence of prescription drugs was found guilty today in District Court.

A Clark County jury found Steven Murray, 44, guilty of killing Patricia Hoff and seriously injuring Porsche Hughes when his picked slammed into the bus stop on Boulder Highway near Flamingo Road on the morning of July 7.

"I'm so happy," said Hughes who attended the court hearing in a wheelchair. Hughes, the mother of two, lost both legs after the collision.

The jury deliberated about 2 and a half hours.
