Man found dead in Wednesday morning apartment fire

A man died in an apartment fire early Wednesday morning in southern Las Vegas.

Clark County firefighters responded to 5355 Edmond St., near Hacienda Avenue and Decatur Boulevard, about 3 a.m. A caller to 911 said his neighbor’s apartment was on fire and the neighbor wouldn’t answer the door.

Las Vegas firefighters also responded to the scene and the two departments had the fire under control before 3:30 a.m. Inside, they found one man dead, Clark County spokesman Jon Klassen said.

No other apartment units were damaged by the fire. Damage was estimated at $30,000.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the identity of the man.
