Man gets life in prison for 2010 slaying in Bullhead City, Ariz.

A Bullhead City, Ariz., man will spend the rest of his life in prison for an October 2010 homicide.

Mohave County Superior Court Judge Steve Conn imposed a life prison term Thursday for Arthur Andrew Leyba, 35.

Prosecutor Doug Camacho said the punishment was enhanced because of Leyba's extensive criminal history. He said Leyba shot and killed Ronnie Wayne Trainer, 32, during a drug debt-related dispute in Bullhead City.

Leyba was convicted of first-degree murder, misconduct involving weapons, burglary and attempted armed robbery. Leyba's girlfriend, Rebecca Dee Sklar-Grabowski, is serving a 3½ -year prison term for hindering prosecution by transporting Leyba from the homicide scene and being present when he tossed the murder weapon in the Colorado River.
