Man indicted in April slaying

A man already serving time in state prison was indicted Friday in a Las Vegas slaying.

Andrei Davis, 21, faces charges of murder with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with a deadly weapon, and third-degree arson.

Authorities said Davis shot and killed 25-year-old Rashard Felipe Acuna on April 14, then set fire to the victim’s Buick Renatta.

Las Vegas police found Acuna’s body while checking out calls about gunshots around the intersection of La Cienega Street and Neal Avenue, near St. Rose Parkway and Las Vegas Boulevard.

He died from a gunshot wound to the lower back, the coroner’s office said.

Davis, who is being held at the High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs, is slated to appear in court Tuesday.
