Man killed by possible oxygen tank fire identified

The man who died in an accident involving a medical oxygen tank that possibly caught fire while he was smoking has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Russell A. Kincaid, 68, died Tuesday after being burned by a flash fire that was possibly fueled by the oxygen tank he used, fire officials said.

Las Vegas Fire Department spokesman Tim Szymanski said firefighters learned of the death about 5:30 p.m. at a home in the 6100 block of Daisy Petal Street, near U.S. Highway 95 and Azure Drive.

He said that Kincaid’s oxygen tubes had been burned and that Kincaid had been smoking at the time of the accident, but Szymanski was unsure of the exact cause of death.
