Man who died in crash ID’d as 56-year-old from North Las Vegas

A 56-year-old North Las Vegas man killed in a wreck at the intersection of Bonanza Road and City Parkway late Thursday was identified as Thaddues Johnson by the Clark County coroner's office.

Johnson was driving a Toyota Tercel when Las Vegas police believe he ran a red light as he traveled west on Bonanza just before 9 p.m.

A tractor trailer, driven by Claud McClain, 34, of Las Vegas, was heading north on City Parkway at the time and struck the Toyota on the driver's side, police said.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lone passenger in the Toyota, David Smith, 58, suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Medical Center.

McClain suffered minor injuries in the wreck and was treated at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
