Middle East topic of events

Three women from the Middle East -- a Muslim Palestinian, a Christian Palestinian and Israeli citizen, and a Jewish Israeli -- will speak at several Southern Nevada events beginning Sunday.

Wejdan Jaber, Abir Kopty and Hagit Ra'anan are visiting Las Vegas as part of the "Jerusalem Women Speak: Three Women, Three Faiths, One Shared Vision" program sponsored by Partners for Peace, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization.

During their local speaking engagements, which run through Tuesday, the women will discuss their personal perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and their hope for peace in the Middle East.
