Motorcycle crash claims life of Arizona rider

KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A Lake Havasu City, Ariz., man was fatally injured when he crashed his motorcycle in his hometown Wednesday. Police Sergeant Richie Sloma said Patrick J. McCormick, 53, was killed in the 4:34 p.m. accident in the 400 block of Lake Havasu Avenue South.

Sloma said McCormick failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway near Duel Drive and was ejected when his 2000 Harley Davidson struck a landscaping boulder. He said McCormick was not wearing a helmet and excessive speed is a suspected factor.
