MountainView Hospital warned by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
MountainView Hospital has been warned by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to clean up certain infection control deficiencies or face decertification, hospital officials said today.
The warning is the result of a survey conducted at the hospital July 22-25 in which CMS surveyors documented several deficiencies, including failure by the hospital to implement and follow infection control policies, ensure that a safe and sanitary environment was provided, and maintain a consistent and comprehensive system for identifying communicable diseases in patients and employees.
The hospital submitted a plan of correction to CMS on Sept. 24. If the plan of correction is accepted, along with an acceptable survey, the hospital would not lose its Medicare contract, CMS officials said.
