FAA investigates 2 close calls at US airports

The FAA is investigating two recent close calls for passenger jets at U.S. airports.

A JetBlue plane was forced to abort its takeoff at JFK International Airport when a Caribbean Airlines plane crossed its path on the runway. The two planes came with about 3,000 feet of each other. The FAA is investigating if it was pilot error or controller error.

At Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, a Delta flight bound for Tokyo with 308 people on board returned safely to the Atlanta airport after smoke was reported coming from its landing gear.
