Mississippi State University issues all clear for active shooter on campus

UPDATE: Mississippi State University says 'issuing an all clear' for active shooter situation

Mississippi State University said on Twitter on Thursday it had a suspect in custody after an active shooter was reported on campus.

The university said there was "no report at this time of any shots that have been fired" and that no injuries had been immediately reported.

Despite the apprehension of a suspect, on Twitter the college instructed people to "continue to shelter in place until further notice."

"Stay away from campus. Stay inside buildings," it added.
