Musical numbers add up fast

It's 10 against one when it comes to today's offerings of musical theater performers. But the one has a soap opera on his side.

"I Love to Sing (Joan Sobel & Friends)" brings Sobel, who plays Madame Firmin in "Phantom -- the Las Vegas Spectacular," and nine of her castmates to the Clark County Library Theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road, for a concert presented under the auspices of the Performing Arts Society of Nevada's Brown Bag Concerts. Tickets are $15 for the 2 p.m. show; call 658-6741.

Kevin Spirtas, who was Dr. Wesley on "Days of Our Lives" before he was part of the short-lived "Hairspray" on the Strip, puts on a singing, dancing showcase called "Night and Days" at 3 p.m. in the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. Tickets are $15 at the door; call 229-6383.
